When an earthquake
occurs

While driving a rental car

Avoid sudden braking, park the car on the left side of the road, and stop the engine.

When tremor has stopped

Obtain disaster information. If you are going to evacuate, leave the car keys in ignition, close all windows and doors but keep them unlocked and evacuate on foot.

Write down and leave a contact where it is easily visible and take your valuables and automobile inspection certificate with you.

When safety is confirmed

In case you are in a rental car, call the rental car agent and ask for instructions.
