An exciting and unforgettable "island-wide" theme park. Thirteenth-century books "slumber" at the famous Kanazawa Bunko Museum.
Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise is a leisure land surrounded by nature. It is located at the tip of Yokohama Bay and is a new generation style amusement park.
It has one of the largest aquariums in Japan, called the Aqua Museum, and the Dolphin Fantasy, a fantastic aquarium featuring dolphins. In 2007, an open aquarium, Fureai Lagoon, was added, where visitors can meet ocean creatures. A one-day trip will not be enough time to visit all these spots, including Pleasure Land (an amusement facility), located on the beach, the Restaurant Plaza (where you can enjoy various dishes), and the Bay Market (which sells original souvenirs).
The Kanazawa Bunko Museum, a samurai library established by Hojo Sanetoki in the Kamakura Period, is nearby. Currently, the library exhibits artworks and ancient documents, including national cultural treasures, as the history museum of the medieval period. Shomyoji nearby is a temple for the Kanazawa-Hojo family, constructed by Hojo Sanetoki. The beautiful garden, in the jodo-style, with Ajigaike Pond in the center, still attracts many people today.
