Koka Ninja Village
Surrounded by forest, on a plot of land just like an isolated village, is Koka Ninja Village, which is dotted with a Ninja Dojo, a mansion of ninja tricks, the Koka Ninjutsu Museum and more. For an authentic ninja experience, also rent a costume for 1000yen!
You can try your skill at nine disciplines, including climbing stone and fences and crossing water using what are known as mizugumo (ninja water-walking shoes, literally “water spiders”).
[Rail] 2h 20 min to Kyoto Station by JR Tokaido Shinkansen, and 20 min to Kusatsu Station by JR Tokaido Line. From Kusatsu Station, 35 mintake the JR Kusatsu Line to Koka Station. Koka Ninja Village is a 30-minute walk from there. A shuttle bus is available; reservation required.
