Close to the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, the Fuji-Hakone-Izu region offers a variety of natural landscapes including mountains, ocean, lakes, as well as hot spring resorts. Mt. Fuji, a well-known symbol of Japan, is located in this region and attracts many visitors from around the world. The Fuji-Hakone-Izu region comprises the three prefectures of Kanagawa, Shizuoka, and Yamanashi. Kanagawa Prefecture, adjacent to Tokyo, offers scenic mountain destinations. Facing the Pacific Ocean and blessed with a mild climate, Shizuoka Prefecture has numerous hot spring resorts, ocean and mountains, and delicious seafood. Some of the region's best-known historical towns belong to the inland Yamanashi Prefecture. Yamanashi is also noted for its wine production. Mt. Fuji lies between Shizuoka and Yamanashi, and views of majestic Mt. Fuji and the beautiful lakes can be enjoyed from the surrounding towns.

  • Course A

    This route traces a path of historic trading ports (which provided a gateway to foreign cultures), cities of historical interest, and internationally acclaimed hot spring resorts.

  • Course B

    Running vertically across the eastern part of Izu Peninsula, this route leads to many long established hot spring resorts. You can enjoy the atmosphere of the bustling resorts and feast on a variety of fresh seafood.

  • Course C

    Stretching through the western part of Izu Peninsula, this route leads to many hot spring resorts. In contrast to the eastern Izu, these towns provide a relatively reposeful atmosphere, and there are several scenic fishing ports offering superb views of Mt. Fuji.

  • Course D

    This route connects towns in Yamanashi Prefecture and also offers superb views of Mt. Fuji. The foot of the mountain is studded with beautiful lakes and has many well-equipped leisure facilities. You will also encounter towns famous for their hot springs and historical interest.
