A jolly Entertainment Mecca to enjoy the sea, sushi and a Ferris wheel
S-Pulse Dream Plaza was developed in a joint effort of the public and private sectors in1999 commemorating the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Shimizu that is known as an international trade port. The facility is named after Shimizu S-Pulse, a professional soccer team that was born in the city.
This is a place representing the Shimizu Bay Area to enjoy shopping, movies, foods and fun events. The Plaza houses a rich variety of entertainment facilities such as a hall of a popular anime set in Shimizu, Shimizu Sushi Museum and a Ferris wheel with sweeping views of not only the Port of Shimizu but also Mt. Fuji, renowned mountain of Japan. Visitors can feast on foods of Shimizu in Shimizu Sushi Court that brings together many sushi shops and Suruga Souvenir Alley with specialty of Shimizu such as tea and sweets.
How about strolling on the beach after a hearty meal? The plaza is in Hinode District of the Port of Shimizu. Walk a board walk along the pier to Marine Park and you will see the terminal of Suruga Port Ferry. Spending a pleasant time in salt breeze is another way to enjoy the Dream Plaza.
