Facing Mt. Daisen, the highest mountain in the Chugoku Region, Sekigane Onsen is said to have started more than 1200 years ago. The peaceful hot spring resort in the mountains with abundant nature used to relieve fatigue of travelers coming and going on the ancient road. Its transparent water without color, taste or smell is knkown as “platinum hot spring” for its purity and varied effects.

Sekigane is one of the best radium springs in the world, with an outstanding hormesis effect and potential to make skin beautiful. It warms your body thoroughly from inside with therapeutic effects. It is said that the hot spring is good for nerve pain, sore muscles, joint pain, fatigue, feeling of cold, arteriosclerosis, bruises, sprains, motor weakness, digestive disorders, cuts, chronic skin disease, hypertension, cholecystitis, hemorrhoids and women’s diseases. The resort is selected as one of the best 100 hot springs in Japan and also designated as a National Hot Spring Health Resort. Any of the hot-spring inns in the area including the communal bathhouse “Sekinoyu” and “Sekigane Yumeikan” welcome walk-in customers but their opening hours and fees vary. Please contact eact facility individually. The area between “Eguimo Shinsui Park” and “Jizo-in” of Sekigane Onsen resort is a slope. People who walk there can take a rest at “Enmei-chaya no Ashiyu” footbath to relieve their fatigue.
