This gorgeous garden encapsulates the true essences of the art of the Meiji and Taisho Eras, surrounding the Hyotan-ike Pond for strolling and skillfully enhancing both natural and man-made beauty, and is regarded as one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens from that period. Furthermore, the Mori Familys residence still exists inside of the garden, a grand building constructed entirely of cypress wood. One part of the residence has now become the Mori Museum, in which more than 20,000 national treasure items, including those associated with Mori Motonari, are on display.’
