Hamamatsu Flower Park

A broad botanical garden spanning about 300,000 square meters with 800 Yae cherry blossoms, 1,000 roses of 170 species, and other seasonal flowers and plants. It is also open at night every year during the cherry blossom season, the time of the year when fireflies appear (late May to mid-June), and Christmas. Furthermore, there are many events for children to enjoy such as the opening of the water playground from July to August.

Kanzanji Ropeway

This is the only ropeway in Japan that lets you cross a lake. Enjoy a four-minute walk in the sky while taking in sights such as Hamana-ko Lake below you and the Pacific Ocean on your left.

Okusayama Observatory

If you stand at the peak of Mount Okusa-yama, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view around you. At the top of the mountain is also the Hamanako Music Box Museum, where you can make your own music box.

Kanzanji-onsen Hot Spring

A hot spring in a scenic location facing Lake Hamana-ko. The waters are rich in salinity and said to help relieve aching joints.

Hamanako Sightseeing Ship

Lake Hamana-ko is a brackish lake where the waters on its south side flow into the Enshunada Sea (Pacific Ocean). The shape of the shoreline is quite complex, letting you enjoy scenery that is filled with variety. The cruises that include events such as the cruises to take while watching fireworks in the summer and the cruises under the starry sky are also popular.

Lake Hamana-ko is open to tourists as a sightseeing spot, and in addition to tours on a sightseeing ship, visitors can enjoy digging clams in the spring as well as sea bathing in the summer. Also available are sports such as boating, yachting, and parasailing.

Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika

On the 430,000 square-meter grounds are 4,300 trees of 160 species, letting you pick 15 different types of fruit during the year. In addition to standard fruits such as strawberries and cherries, visitors can also enjoy picking tropical fruits like such as papayas as well as rare fruits such as chocolate vines and figs. Tourists can also feel free to participate as visitors are welcome to stop by to pick just one fruit.

There are attractions such as the "Fruit Orchestra", where visitors can enjoy huge playground equipment shaped like fruit, and even a Segway corner, which is rare in Japan. The fruit buffet that offers fresh fruit is also popular.
