OSAKA Shinsaibashi and the new store boom

Shinsaibashi is in the midst of a "new store boom" for the casual clothing industry. Going a bit south in the Shinsaibashi-suji area which greets you as you emerge from Exit No. 6 at the Shinsaibashi subway station will take you to "collect point Shinsaibashi", a large-scale shopping complex that opened on February 27, 2010 and includes six popular brands centering around "LOWRYS FARM". The first floor is a ladies floor geared towards women in their 20s, the second floor is a men's floor, and the third floor features teenager oriented brands.
And going just a bit farther south, you will arrive at "Ebisubashi" right in the middle of Shinsaibashi. The Luz Shinsaibashi Building opened there on March 6, 2010. The first to the third floor of this building are devoted to the first Kansai region shop for "H&M", immensely popular worldwide. This ultra popular brand had a line of over 2,500 people lineup for the opening. The secret to their fame is the speed at which products are replaced with new items. Every day new items storm the shelves, filling each visit with brand new discoveries. Moreover, Shisaibashi-suji also features many inexpensive, cute, and fashionable shops targeting young people like "ZARA" and "UNIQLO".

OSAKA Get cute stuff at Horie

Horie is a stretch reached by walking about 10 minutes west from the Nanba/Shinsaibashi side, past Yotsubashi-suji. With its variety of shops on either side of Tachibana Dori Street, which cuts through the middle of town, Horie used to be a furniture industry area. When Tachibana Dori Street was given the stylish name of Orange Street, selected from among many candidates in 1990, it transformed into a stylish district with a cluster of assorted shops like cafes, assorted goods shops, and fashion shops in addition to interior design shops. Living up to its original nickname of Kaguya Dori (furniture street), this area is brimming in a strong design sense from many different areas like Europe, America, and Asia, and also deals in stylish interior design products.
Another recommendation is the assorted goods shops. In places like "TIMELESS COMFORT", which is located along Tachibana Dori Street and features kitchen items that make cooking fun, and "Cubic Style" with its stock of interesting assorted goods, you will discover an extensive treasure trove of assorted goods that are fun even just to browse through. Another must-see is the small shops that are only open on Horie. Represented by places like "AGURA", which features items that the owner personally picked out traveling through areas like Thailand and Indonesia, and "osoblanco", which carries arts and craft items that include many one-of-a-kind single objects, these shops are jam-packed with the unique tastes of their owners.
