Yoshinogari Historical Park

The Yoshinogari ruins are of extremely high academic value and are an important cultural asset dating back to the Yayoi Period (300 BC-300 AD), a time marked by the start of rice growing and the permanent settlement of the Japanese people. Through preservation of the ruins, restoration of ancient structures, and exhibition of excavated items, Yoshinogari Historical Park provides the public with an opportunity to understand Yayoi culture, and is committed to advancing knowledge and understanding of the Yayoi period in Japan and in the world. The Museum is comprised of several zones. The Moat-Enclosed Settlement exhibits restored structures and the Ancient Field provides recreational activities.
