Who We Are

Who We Are

JNTO is a public agency established in 1964, the year the first Tokyo Olympics were held.
Since then, we have been engaged in attracting international visitors to Japan for more than 50 years as a designated organization for inbound tourism.
We have played a central role in efforts to promote and expand inbound tourism to Japan ever since our founding. We were designated as a budgetary implementation organization in 2015, and have since then contributed to achieving the government's goals geared to realizing a tourism-oriented country through implementing inbound tourism promotion projects.
With overseas offices in 26 cities around the world, JNTO leverages this network to engage in overseas promotional activities, support the attracting and holding of international conventions as well as analyze overseas market trends and support local communities.
