Ajimu Kote-e

Kote-e is a type of plaster relief created for decorative purposes by a plasterer who uses a plastering trowel to draw pictures. In the Ajimu area, the relief sculpture work contains prayers by builders for protection from disasters. Even now, more than a hundred years after the work was performed, vivid kote-e illustrations can still be found on the eaves of residences in about 100 locations throughout the area.
