Highlights

Otaru Canal

Otaru Canal was built in 1923. in 1986, the canal was updated with elements that are familiar to visitors today: Gaslights, a stone-paved promenade, and a roadside park. Thanks in part to the illuminating effect of these gaslights, Otaru Canal is an undeniably popular tourist attraction.

Hands-on Manufacturing Experience

Otaru is home to a large number of glass factories where visitors can engage in some hands-on manufacturing tasks rather than just observe and buy goods made by others. In addition, you are also invited to tap your creative impulses by making music boxes and choosing from among a diverse selection of craftworks.
