- Saikai National Park and the Kujuku Islands
Including the Kujuku Islands, Saikai National Park is a national sea park located on the westernmost point of Japan. It has been said that the density of islands here is the highest in Japan. Furthermore, the landscape of the Kujuku Islands, with its amazing natural beauty, was used in the opening scenes of the Last Samurai movie, starring Tom Cruise.
- Sasebo Burger (hamburger)
Sasebo is the location of the first "hamburger" culture in Japan, starting about 1950. Different from the chain stores, each hamburger shop has its own unique personality, but all carry on the Sasebo tradition and taste.
With a history of about 400 years, "Mikawachiyaki" porcelain has a characteristic pure white base color, as well as delicate and graceful dyed designs. Mikawayaki was the source for the popular picture of a child in Chinese dress, "Karakoe" that can be found nationwide in many forms.
