Otaru Yuki-Akari-no-Michi

Yuki-Akari-no-Michi is an event featuring hand-made candles donated by the local citizens. During the event, candle floats decorate the canal and the roads are lit with about 150,000 candles, turning the streets of Otaru into a nighttime fantasy.

Asarigawa Onsen Village

The Asarigawa Onsen Village is a unique hot springs village located just 25 minutes away by automobile from the central part of Otaru City. It is a great destination enjoyable in all four seasons, featuring cherry blossoms in the spring, golf and tennis in summer, colorful autumn leaves in the fall, and skiing in winter.
