Ryokan Kashima Honkan was built in the 'Taisho' period' (1912-1925) based on the special architecture by the shrine carpenters from Kyoto. We call this type of architecture 'Sukiya-Zukuri'(more info) (HOSTELWORLD)
This ryokan was the first building in Fukuoka City to be designated an important cultural property. Located in Hakata, a historical atmosphere reminiscent of the Taisho era permeates Kashima Honkan. (JAPANICAN)
