Inexpensive Downtown Pubs

Large cities have well-known nightlife districts, where bars, pubs, nightclubs and restaurants are clustered in a blaze of neon. The most expensive establishments are hostess bars, but wine bars, Western-style pubs, karaoke bars and other locales are reasonably priced. Even cheaper are izakaya, Japanese-style pubs serving sake, beer and Japanese and Western snacks and food. They're popular with office workers—young and old, male and female—and become quite crowded around 7:00pm.
