Bonsai

Miniature potted trees, called Bonsai in Japanese, have been cultivated in Japan for centuries. Indeed, some Bonsai are centuries old themselves, tended by generations of gardeners who have patiently manipulated the dwarfed trees' shape until they mimic scenes of nature. Even the pots containing Bonsai are chosen with care to enhance the trees' shape, color and effect.
