Hamamatsu Flower Park

Shizuoka, Chubu

A relaxing day surrounded by seasonal flowers, such as the row of cherries, the rose garden, and rows of hydrangeas

Hamamatsu Flower Park is by Lake Hamana, where the weather is mild all year round. The total area of the site is 300,000 square meters, and about 100,000 plants of about 3000 species are cultivated. It is a great place for relaxing and looking at flowers, or taking a walk.

Flowers such as plums, cherries, roses, tulips, azaleas, irises, and hydrangeas bloom in turn from spring to early summer. In autumn there are red spider lilies and roses, and every winter more than 200 camellia trees are in full bloom.

Garden theater, which is based on a European flower garden, is full of seasonal flowers, and you will never get bored here, no matter what time of the year it is. The adjacent Bali Garden is a space with beautiful tropical plants that is reminiscent of a garden in a resort hotel in Bali. Mexican Garden, where cactus and other unique plants seen in dry regions throughout the world are gathered, is such an exotic space that it almost makes you forget that you are in Japan.

There are also other facilities for relaxing times, such as Japanese Garden, a space with a Ferris wheel where small children can also have fun, a 90,000 square meters lawn, and a steam locomotive-shaped guidance tram that goes around the site.
