It is told that the statues were built around late Heian period to Kamakura period (8–12th centuries). With its scale and number, and also with its high quality, it is a group of stone Buddha representing Japan. There are over 60 statues, and 59 of those are national treasures. In June and July, you can enjoy the blooms of lotus field in the park. 1 week from Aug. 28 in every year, Usuki Stone Buddha Fire Festival (石仏火まつり) will be held in this place.
