The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama

The Museum of Modern Art, Saitama is located in Kitaurawa Koen, a park in the city of Saitama, Saitama Prefecture. The entire building, constructed as a grid, is itself a work of art. The permanent exhibits introduce the works of artists who have a connection to Saitama Prefecture, as well as Japanese and foreign works of art which have influenced these artists. Included in the collection of foreign artists are Picassos Still Life, Delvaux’s The Forest, Monet’s Grainstacks at Giverny: The Evening Sun, and Kisling’s Portrait of Rita Van Leer. In addition there are four general exhibition rooms dedicated to displaying the work of local artists and art groups.’
