Morin-ji Temple
Gumma
Morin-ji was built in the second half of the 15th century by the lord of Aoyagi Castle, who ruled this region. There are many olds legends regarding the teapot here, which is considered a treasure of the temple. When the priests at here were perplexed because they didnt have a teapot large enough to make tea for all 1,000 of them, an old priest took out a teapot, from which he continuously drew out tea. But since the tea would run out, the old priest said, "This teapot brings happiness." And so this teapot came to be called "the teapot which brings happiness." There is a well-known story that this priest was really a shape-shifting badger. On both sides of the approach to the temple are the images of twenty badgers in connection with this story.'
