The panoramic flower gardens for casual enjoyment of the grand nature of Hokkaido
(C) Biei Town Tourist AssociationThe name Shikisai-no-Oka is created by combining "Shikisai (color)" and "Shiki (four seasons)" This is a flower garden where you can leap into the grand nature of Hokkaido throughout the year. Shikisai-no-Oka is in Biei-cho, a scenic town on a hill. Here, a 7-hectare hill is carpeted with flowers from April to October. You can enjoy colors and fragrance of several dozen different flowers such as tulip, lupine, lavender, salvia, sunflower, dahlia and Japanese anemone according to the season.
Vehicles available here include; a tractor bus named "Shikisai Norokko" going round the hill for leisurely time; a single passenger vehicle named "Buggy" to go anywhere you like and; four-passenger vehicles named "Cart" for rent by groups and families.
During snow season (December to early April) rental snowmobiles are popular. Driving while looking at Mt. Daisetsu must be fun without a doubt. Other vehicles include snow raft (inflatable raft for four passengers) for a course around the hill. There are also shops, a restaurant and produce stands to enjoy foods of Hokkaido.
