Yamaguchi Kenritsu Bijutsukan (Art Museum)
Artists once active in Yamaguchi Prefecture include Sesshu, an India-ink painter of the 15th century, and painters of the Unkoku school, who imitated Sesshus style. In modern and contemporary times the prefecture has produced artists such as Kano Hogai and Wasaku Kobayashi. Yamaguchi Kenritsu Bijutsukan houses and regularly exhibits works by these artists. The crown jewels of this museum are three works by Sesshu, one of which is Bokugyu-zu, a picture of grazing cattle, and a collection of works by artists of the Unkoku school. The Museum's collection of Western-style paintings includes the Siberian Series by Yasuo Kazuki.'
