Saga Kenritsu Kyushu Toji Bunkakan (Saga Prefectural Kyushu Ceramics Culture Hall)
Saga
Saga Kenritsu Kyushu Toji Bunkakan (The Saga Prefectural Kyushu Ceramics Culture Hall) collects, preserves and displays ceramics from various parts of Kyushu, including those produced in Saga Prefecture, from the perspectives of history, art and industry. The hall also aims to act as a comprehensive base for the culture of the ceramic arts. Here visitors can learn the history of ceramics in Kyushu by looking at actual pieces, charts, chronological tables and photographs. Displays include pieces of ceramic ware from Kyushu dating back centuries, as well as the work of prominent contemporary artists. In the courtyard, a water fountain and a white ceramic Meissen bell donated to Arita-machi by Meissen, Germany are on display. The ceramic bell plays a lovely melody every hour.
