Ninja Museum of Igaryu

Mie

You can become a ninja!
A museum with a huge amount of materials concerning ninja skills

Ueno Park developed around Igaueno Castle ruins has a facility suitable for the town where the ninja art of Igaryu was born. That is Ninja Museum of Igaryu built by relocating a former residence of a local clan of Iga. At a glance the houselooks like an ordinary thatched farmhouse of traditional style but this is a ninja house with a variety of traps and tricks for defense.

One step in the house, there will be surprise after surprise. A female ninja guides visitors through each part of the house, showing and demonstrating various gimmicks such as dondengaeshi (a revolving trapdoor), nukemichi (secret passage), kakushido (hidden door) and katanakakushi (hidden sward). In Ninja Experience Hall, you can try tools and techniques used by jinja! Ninja Show held in the Ninjutsu Experience space demonstrates how to use tools that were actually used by ninja. The demonstration using shuriken (throwing stars), swards, kusarigama (chain sickles) etc has a huge impact beyond a show. How about getting ninja goods available only in the Museum and starting training to become a ninja?
