A museum with a collection of major works of contemporary art from home and abroad such as works by Tadanori Yokoo and Andy Warhol

The National Museum of Art (NMOA) was opened with the aim of collecting, exhibiting and studying works centered on contemporary art from home and abroad.
On the ground floor, there is only the entrance and all exhibition rooms are located below ground level. The entrance is impressive with the innovative design inspired by the development and growth of contemporary art and the life force of bamboo.

The collection is centered on the postwar contemporary art. NMOA houses many works of the world-class artists such as: Andy Warhol, a leading artist of American popular culture with techniques such as silkscreen; Tadanori Yokoo, a graphic artist who works in genres from commercial design to 3D art and Yayoi Kusama, an artist who expresses her unique view of the world with a polka dot motif.
In addition, NMOA houses works of prewar artists such as Paul C zanne, Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst and Tsuguharu Fujita.

Next to NMOA, there is Osaka Science Museum which has a huge planetarium with a digital image device showing the entire night sky. This is where the entire family can enjoy.

Hours open to visitors: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Open until 7:00 p.m. on Fridays) (Last admission 30 minutes before closing)

Admission Fee: 420 yen
Closed: Monday (Monday is open if it falls on a national holiday, and the day after that will be closed) and the year-end through the New Year period
