A museum sure to thrill marine enthusiasts

The Museum of Maritime Science is a large museum dedicated to the culture of sea and ships. The museum has an annex exhibition hall and an outdoor exhibition, both of which boat lovers are sure to enjoy.

How to Get There

The museum is adjacent to the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal Station on the Yurikamome Line.

The annex exhibition hall

The annex exhibition hall is divided into six sections, such as a section focused on ship transportation, and another on the Sea of Japan. Displays include models of ships and the seafloor topography of Japan's oceans, as well as various video exhibits.

Outdoor exhibits

In addition to the annex exhibition hall, there is an outdoor exhibition hall, containing exhibits about the ocean and ships. Here, visitors can board the Soya, the first Antarctic research vessel.

Closed on Mondays and during the New Year's period. Open on Mondays falling on national holidays, closed the following weekday.
