Comment Municipal facility where visitors can actually prepare traditional Japanese foods. Restaurant and local-specialties outlet.
Classes in preparing Kajikazawa specialties and many other traditional foods like buckwheat (soba) and wheat-flour noodles (udon), pickled daikon radish, devils-tongue jelly, salted plums, and dried persimmons. (Reservations must be made one week in advance.) Instructions in citron picking, pounding glutinous rice, rural life, and seasonal cuisine.
Located on the Fujikawa river, the town of Kajikazawa thrived on river transport especially of natural marine salt. Salt produced by a revived traditional process is on sale.
Access 45 minutes by car from Chuo Expwy Kofuminami IC. 40 minutes by car from Chubu-odan Road Shirane IC.
