| WAK'S main business |
Introduction of Japan:
Introducing Japanese culture to foreigners is one of the prowess of Kyoto-
based WAK JAPAN. Popular among foreigners are our hands-on programs
for Japanese home cooking, tea ceremony, washi-doll making, calligraphy,
flower arrangement, and koto, Japanese harp playing. Visit historic temples
and downtown houses and ordinary homes, and you will find how exquisitely
the modern and the old harmonize with each other in Kyoto.
Lectures:
WAK provides schools and communities with a variety of lectures based on
our own experiences. Some of them are: a home stay orientation lecture
for students as well as host families; cultural lectures in easy English on
Japanese home cooking, origami, or yukata wearing using a concise textbook
we made.
Interpretation, Translation, and Attendant Services in business and academic fields:
WAK offers these services in the following languages: English, Chinese,
French, Italian, Korean, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Dutch.
Japanese Lessons:
WAK has Japanese lessons for students from abroad, foreigners permanently
or temporally living in Japan, and children who have returned from abroad.
WAK's teachers are all well experienced and have deep understanding of
cultural diversity. Trust WAK's instructors, and you will acquire Japanese
just fit for your needs however short your stay in Kyoto is.
Training Courses for Would-Be Volunteer Japanese Teachers:
WAK will give you a knack for teaching foreigners Japanese. WAK's teachers
with extensive teaching experience will put together your study menu that
meets your needs, and will instruct you by practical methods such as mock
and open lessons.
Lectures on the Japanese Language:
Pick out lectures from our wide rage of topics such as "Characteristics of
the Japanese people expressed in Japanese," "Is Japanese difficult?" and
"How to use honorifics." The Japanese as well as foreigners will be sure to
find them intriguing and instructive.
