Echizen washi paper has a long
history dating back around 1,500 years. Along Washi no Sato street
you can learn how to make your own washi paper and observe the skillful
old-style techniques of papermakers in the Washi Paper Making and
Craft Museum. You can also trace the history of Echizen washi simply
using paper dolls and picture panels. The museum is also a good
place to purchase souvenirs. |
