"Meiji-mura" is an
outdoor museum reproducing nostalgic street scenes of the Meiji
Era. The museum welcomes visitors to a number of historical buildings,
all of which date back to the beginning of modern Japan. Our collection
of sixty-seven buildings includes eleven National Cultural Assets.
The best way to look through the village is to take a tour by steam
locomotive or streetcar, both of which have been used since the
Meiji Era. A tour is also available by elegant horse-drawn carriage.
Please allow at least two hours to enjoy the entire village. |
