Expo'70 Commemorative Park (Banpaku-koen) is located on the east side of the Senriyama Hills in the central north part of Osaka. A natural park of aboute 260 hectares was created as a cultural setting surrounded by greenery" at the site of the Osaka Expo held in 1970, as commemorative landmark. The 'Tower of the Sun' sculpture by Taro Okamoto is world-famous. Beautiful Japanese gardens, the "National Museum of Ethnology (Separate admission is charged.)" where information about all kinds of ethnic groups is presented, can be found in this spacious park surrounded by greenery
The Instant Ramen Museum located in Ikeda, the very birthplace of instant ramen noodles. The museum provides an interactive and entertaining education on the fascinating history of instant ramen. A reproduction of the lab used by Nissin Foods founder Momofuku Ando, and theater performances showcasing milkestones during the product's development are displayed. The My Cup Noodle Factory is a popular attraction that lets the visitor create their own cup of noodles by designing the cup and selecting one favorite soup and ingredients.
The Suntory Yamazaki Distillery is a visit not to be missed, in the northern areas of Osaka. Construction of Japan's first malt whiskey disillery started in 1923 in Yamazaki, a site famed for its crystal clear waters. For over 90 years, the distillery has been producing a large part of the whiskey brands that Japan has become known for. Visitor can enjoy a tasting of Yamazaki brand whiskey after touring the whiskey distillery enjoying a first hand view of the production proccess. In the "Whiskey Museum", a variety of whisky-related paraphernalia can be appreciated, such as display on the history of Japanese whiskey, with a tasting counter where vintage whiskies and suchlike can be sampled (charged).
Meiji no Mori Minoh Kokutei Koen (Minoh Falls) extends across the mountainous area in the northern part of Mihoh City, rising in altituide from 100 to 600 meters. From the majestic Mino Otaki waterfall, a gorge winds through the forest, creating a strip known as a paradise for plants and insects. The area's seasonally changing charms are known across the nation, and range from the cherry blossoms in spring, to the green shoots and fireflies in summer, and the turning leaves in late fall.
