Cropped-out white rocks within the mountains create a ravine, with outdoor recreation in the seas and mountains.

Monobe Town, located in Kami City, is situated in the northeast of Kochi Prefecture. Around half of the town's land area is given over to Okumonobe Prefectural Park, with the northeastern area designated Tsurugi-san Quasi-National Park. The area is popular with mountain climbers from spring through fall.

Monobe's Befu Gorge stretches for 5 kilometers and features white limestone rocks that have been exposed by years of weathering. These white rocks blend harmoniously with the green of the surrounding mountains, with several small waterfalls dotting the landscape. The area also has several tea houses, observatories, and walkways. There are also hot springs and camping grounds surrounded by some of Shikoku's most impressive mountains—Mt. Ishidate-san and Mt. Miune-san. You can even enjoy swimming in the clear waters of the Makiyama-gawa River.

In the central-eastern part of the prefecture lies Teisumiyoshi Nature Park. Combining the coastal beauty of the black-pine forest at Kotoga-hama Beach and the hinterland around Mt. Myoken-yama and Mt. Shiro-yama, this park offers the best of both worlds. The park is blessed with a full range of facilities, including water leisure activities, cycling, and golf courses.
