The center of Kanagawa Prefecture, to the west of Tokyo, has excellent traffic links to Tokyo and is a commuter town for people commuting to work in Tokyo, Yokohama and Kawasaki. It is also close to the historical Tokaido highway and has many historical landmarks and structures, such as Samukawa Shrine.
