The Japan Current washes this southernmost cape.
A leisurely stroll brings many views of this beautiful region, both day and night.

Cape Sata, located at the end of the Osumi peninsula on the southernmost end of Kagoshima, has a tropical feel, with sheer sea cliffs washed by the Japan Current. There is abundant natural growth of Sago Cycads (more commonly known as King Sago Palm), an attractive plant designated as a natural monument. This cape is part of the Kirishima-Yaku National Park.

The approximately 9km drive from O-domari to Cape Sata on a road lined with subtropical plants such as hibiscus gives a tropical feel. At the tip of the cape, located about 15 minutes walk from the parking area is a glass-panelled observatory where visitors can enjoy a panoramic birds-eye view of the area.

Kaminokawa Waterfall Park is located on the upper stream of the Kaminokawa River flowing from east to west through Kinko Town. The waterfall with water cascading down a sheer cliff of 25m is a magnificent sight.
