Overrun with flowers in mild weather seasons. Mt. Kaimon-dake is regarded as one of the 100 best mountains in Japan.

Cape Nagasaki-bana, located in the southernmost end of the Satsuma-hanto Peninsula, is a beautiful land blessed with mild weather and flowers that bloom all the year round.

In the flower theme park Flower Park Kagoshima, where 400 kinds of plants are displayed in their natural environment, as many as 400,000 plants in all, you can enjoy the flowers of each season. In Nagasaki-bana Parking Garden, where tropical and subtropical plants grow, you can also enjoy delightful shows put on by orangutans and flamingos.

Mt. Kaimon-dake, 924 meters above sea level and ranked as one of the hundred best mountains in Japan, is the symbol of the southernmost part of the Satsuma-hanto Peninsula, and is also known as Satsuma-Fuji. It belongs to Kirishima-Yaku National Park, and because there are no other high mountains nearby, you can enjoy a panoramic view from any location. The mountain trails are well laid out, and from the peak you are treated to a lovely view of Cape Sata to the east, and on clear days you can also enjoy a distant view of Tane-ga-shima, Yaku-shima, and the smoking Io-jima Islands.
