Antique markets that have traditionally been held on shrine grounds since days of old are incredibly popular even among serious Japanese antique connoisseurs. There are incredible bargains to be had in antique kimonos and miscellaneous goods, sparking a growing popularity among young women. And since many of the marketplaces themselves are important cultural areas, it is a lot of fun to take a break from scouting out antique items and enjoy the architectural scenery.
