Kyoto Design House

Located on the ground floor of the NIWAKA building, designed by the renowned architect Tadao Ando, Kyoto Design House is a select shop full of beautiful products for everyday life. The store regularly carries over 1500 different items from traditional Kyoto handicrafts like ceramics, paper and bamboo crafts and Nishijin brocade to stationary and interior goods with a Japanese sensibility. The proud traditions of Kyoto are alive even in the latest products, in the superb craftsmanship and the high-class materials utilized. There is also a rich selection of bridal gifts. The in-store gallery and the event space in the basement hold exhibitions that vary with the seasons.
