COUNTDOWN JAPAN

(December)

Although most music festivals in Japan are held in summer, Countdown Japan is one of the few rock festivals held in winter. This festival is being set as an event for seeing in the New Year as it runs through New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Japanese artists get together at Countdown Japan, which is held over 3 days in 2 big cities simultaneously: Makuhari (Chiba prefecture) and Osaka. Some artists switch between the 2 sites.
In addition to the stages, there are other interesting attractions such as the DJ booth, drinking/eating area, shop corner (official festival and artists' goods are sold here) and a gallery showing the progression of Countdown Japan.

Period: 29 to 31 December every year (3 consecutive days)
Venue:
(Chiba) Makuhari Messe (A few minutes walk from Kaihin Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line)
(Osaka) Index Osaka (Approx. 10-min walk from Cosmos Square Station on Osaka Municipal Subway Chuo Line)
