Welcome to the John Lennon Museum ! The John Lennon Museum has opened on October 9, 2000, the day when John would have celebrated his 60th birthday. The John Lennon Museum has been formally approved by Ms. Yoko Ono, and is the first such museum in the world. As one of the major artists of the 20th century, John Lennon affected many people, not only those involved in music but also people from every field around the world. The John Lennon Museum was established to preserve knowledge of his worksand career. The John Lennon Museum is located in the Saitama Super Arena, a palace of music and sports and the central facility of the Saitama New Urban Center, which opened in May 2000. You will find in the Museum a variety of musical instruments and costumes of and related to John Lennon and various other items from the memorabilia held by Ms. Yoko Ono. |

To reach the John Lennon Museum, take the pedestrian walkway from the Saitama Shin-toshin Station, pass through the Keyaki Hiroba ("Keyaki" Tree Square), and cross the bridge. You will find the entrance to the Museum on your right. ・By train : Approx. 3 minutes walk from Saitama Shin-toshin (Saitama New Urban Center) Station, JR Keihin-tohoku line, Utsunomiya line and Takasaki line. | Description | The Miho Museum, which opened in Novermber 1997, was designed by the world-renowned architect I.M. Pei. Out of respect for nature, the architect built 80% of the structure below ground on a steep hillside in a nature reserve in Shigaraki. The Miho Museum's collection contains over 2,000 works which range from antiquities from the civilizations of Egypt, West Asia, Greece, Rome, South Asia, China, Islam and Japan, Buddhist art, ceramic ware, to Japanese tea ceremonial art. |
