Tokushima
Otsuka Museum of Art was built by Otsuka Pharmaceutical Group to commemorate the companys 75th anniversary. With a total floor area of 29,412 square meters, the museum has the largest exhibition space in Japan. Its collection of more than 1,000 reproductions of Western masterpieces on ceramic boards comprises the works from 190 museums in 25 countries and was selected by 6 acclaimed art historians. Using a special manufacturing technique, images of the masterpieces were replicated on the ceramic boards in original size.
One of the highlights of the museum would be the complete reproduction of Michelangelo's ceiling and The Last Judgment in Sistine Chapel in full scale. Along with this, visitors can appreciate the beauty of Claude Monet's Water Lilies, the serenity of the works of Giotto of Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, Italy, powerful dominance of Picasso's "Guernica" which never leaves the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia,Madrid and Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper before and after latest restoration would be viewed in full scale as well. The museum is located in the national park of Naruto over looking the Inland Sea. It is filled with natural beauty of the landscape and also known as the famous bird sanctuary.'
