Hokkaidoritsu Obihiro Bijutsukan (Art Museum)

Hokkaidoritsu Obihiro Bijutsukan is located in the "cultural zone" of Midorigaoka Koen, a park in the city of Obihiro. The collection at this art museum follows two fundamental principals: to collect the works of artists who have a close connection to the eastern region of Hokkaido, and to collect modern print art, including etchings of the Barbizon school and posters by Japanese and foreign artists. It is this collection that sets Hokkaidoritsu Obihiro Bijutsukan apart from other art museums. Lectures, special exhibit seminars and art classes are held on weekends, along with a "Kids Museum" for children.'
